Elysium Hotel
The Elysium is a five-star beachfront resort in the heart of Paphos, sitting directly beside the Tombs of the Kings with the Mediterranean at the foot of its gardens. Byzantine colonnades, mosaics, marble and water features give the property a genuine sense of ceremony, and the range of spaces — from a wooden pier over the water to the Basilica Ballroom — means the day can be shaped around you rather than the other way round.

Why We Love It
A grand, architectural resort where the whole wedding day unfolds within a few minutes’ walk of the sea.
What sets the Elysium apart is its sense of occasion. This is not an understated venue — the arcaded halls, the marble, the mosaic detail and the water features all give the day a processional quality, and the light coming off the stone in the late afternoon is something photographers here return to again and again. The gardens run down towards the sea, with olive trees, palms and a lavender-lined path to the sand.
The other real strength is range. The same property will hold a standing ceremony for a handful of people on the Sunset Pier, a ceremony for up to ninety in the Orpheus Amphitheatre, a waterside dinner at Mediterraneo, or a formal reception for several hundred in the Basilica Ballroom. That flexibility is rare in one place, and it means the venue can grow with your guest list rather than constrain it.
Practically, it makes for one of the easiest destination weddings we plan in Paphos. Preparation, ceremony, cocktails and dinner all happen within the grounds, so there are no coach transfers and no gaps in the timeline, and with the spa, five restaurants and 287 rooms and suites on site, most of your guests can simply stay where the celebration is. The hotel also holds only one wedding a day on its grounds, which is written into its own terms.
If Elysium Hotel feels like the right setting, we can help you shape the day around it.

Questions & Answers
Frequently asked about Elysium Hotel
How many guests can the Elysium accommodate for a wedding?+
Capacity is set by the space you choose rather than by the property as a whole. The hotel’s published figures include up to 90 for a ceremony in the Orpheus Amphitheatre, up to 120 seated at Mediterraneo, up to 40 at the Sea Front Venue, and around 380 for a formal dinner in the Basilica Ballroom. Smaller spaces such as the Olive Trees and the Sunset Pier suit very intimate celebrations. Tell us your numbers and we will match you to the right combination.
What does a wedding at the Elysium cost?+
Pricing for the Elysium is being confirmed for the current season, and it is always tailored to your guest numbers, the spaces you choose and the style of celebration you have in mind. Get in touch and we will put together a full costing for your date. As a resort venue with accommodation, dining and coordination on site, it often simplifies the overall budget for guests travelling from abroad.
Can we get legally married at the Elysium?+
Yes — civil ceremonies do take place on the property, officiated by a person authorised by the Civil Council of the Municipality of Paphos. The Municipality conducts ceremonies away from the Town Hall at its own discretion, with each application considered on its merits, so we always confirm the current position for your specific date before anything is fixed. Both of you also need to make the marriage application in person once you are in Cyprus, on a weekday morning — it cannot be arranged in advance. We handle the paperwork, the apostille requirements and the timings around your celebration.
What makes the Elysium stand out from other Paphos wedding venues?+
Three things. The architecture, which is Byzantine-inspired and unapologetically grand in a way no other Paphos hotel matches. The position, beachfront in the town itself and immediately next to the Tombs of the Kings, which makes it easy for guests and gives you an ancient landscape on your doorstep. And the breadth of settings within one property — a chapel, an open-air amphitheatre, an olive grove, a pier over the water, waterside restaurants and a ballroom, all reachable on foot.
Can the ceremony and reception both take place at the Elysium?+
Yes, and that is one of its greatest strengths. Ceremonies are typically held in the Orpheus Amphitheatre, the Life-Giving-Source chapel, the Olive Trees or on the Sunset Pier, with receptions in the Basilica Ballroom, Messina Hall, the Basilica Foyer, Mediterraneo, Ristorante Bacco or the Sea Front Venue. Because everything is on one site, the day flows without transfers. Outside suppliers need to be agreed with the hotel in advance, so we build your supplier list with the venue from the start.
When is the best time of year to get married at the Elysium?+
May through to October is the main season, with June and September particularly lovely for warm evenings and softer light. If you have your heart set on the Sunset Pier or the Sea Front Venue, note that the hotel makes these available from June to October only. Later in the season the indoor spaces come into their own — music runs until 01:00 in the Basilica Ballroom and Messina Hall against 23:00 at the outdoor waterside venues, so we plan the evening around the space you choose.
